Job Description:
How would you like to be help build technology that runs cities around the country? We are looking to hire a Full-Stack Java Developer to be a part of the Intelligent NETworks (iNET) software development team. iNET is Parsons' industry-leading smart-city software used to improve the management, efficiency, effectiveness, safety, and livability of our cities and communities. This role is based in Schaumburg IL with a hybrid work schedule available.
Our iNET Software provides: Smart Mobility Capabilities - No matter the transportation system-freeway, highway, toll road, transit route, tunnel, arterial road, or other-iNET applies state-of-the-art operational solutions to enable smarter mobility and smarter cities overall. This includes interfacing with transportation devices, variables message signs, traffic signals, cameras, air quality monitoring sensors, smart lighting, and many other devices to monitor and respond to traffic anomalies and environmental changes. Data collected by iNET is also used for Big Data Analysis, ingesting, and processing large volumes of transportation and other smart-city data into a cloud- and/or premise-based big data environment. This solution includes integrated big data analytics tools to enable ad hoc reporting of the big data environment information.
In this team, you will be working on Parsons high performance real-time Advanced Transportation Management System (iNET) platform. You will function as a team member, working on state-of-the-art web-based technologies collaboratively with other scrum team members. You will be expected to provide input on requirement analysis, design decisions and help drive the direction of the projects on which you work. This candidate will be a strong communicator, comfortable in front of clients explaining solutions in a manner that is appropriate for the current audience. Lastly, this individual is a driven self-starter who is ready to dive into the latest full-stack technologies and develop/modernize our product as well as support ongoing projects.
Responsibilities:
Understanding project scope and requirements and translating them to work items
Provide accurate estimates for project requirements and enhancement requests
Provide input to lead engineer on solutions, approaches, and designs to meet customer requirements
Prepare and document detailed specifications for junior developers
Develop technical designs in accordance with the requirements
Develop, implement, test and debug application software primarily using Java/JEE technologies
Participate in SCRUM team activities as part of project delivery
Perform at an advanced technical level and demonstrate complete understanding of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Qualifications:
Experience with popular open-source Java libraries and frameworks
Experience using Web and API frameworks including React JS, Spring boot, Angular, REST, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, JSON, JSP, Servlets
Experience in application/web server environment including Wildfly/JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS.
Experience with Atlassian products: Confluence, JIRA, and Bitbucket
Familiarity with DevOps and Continuous Integration toolsets and concepts
Experience interfacing with back-end applications using RESTful web services, SOAP, message queues, JSON etc.
Experience working with big data, reporting/dashboarding tools such as Jaspersoft, Tableau, and/or big data analytics is a plus
Experience in using cloud based managed services such as AWS, Google, or Azure
Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle
Proficient understanding of modern IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
Experience working on Windows / Linux / Unix development and production environments
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field

Salary Range:
$61,200.00 - $107,100.00
