AFEX is seeking a passionate, Junior Security Analyst in Woodland Hills, CA. The successful candidate will be skilled in Windows, Linux and networking, with a passion for all things related to cyber security and the desire to work with Open Source Security tools and systems. This person will help with investigations, operational support and help maintain existing security technologies.

Education & Experience
College education or equivalent with a focus on Information Security, IT or a related field.
At least one year of work experience in supporting computers, Information Security or a related role in IT.
Specialization or intense interest in a specific technology and the ability to discuss, at length, that technology
Job Requirements & Responsibilities
Ability to quickly learn, work as a team and work proficiently in a Windows environment
Monitor alerts, investigate events and work with the team on incidents.
Provide reports on Information Security metrics, trends and events
Support internal staff for Information Security related events.
Willing to be on-call for support, troubleshooting or after-hours and weekends should there be an incident.

Ability to work proficiently in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
Working knowledge of Linux, networking L1-L7 and cyber security technologies
Security mindset - driven to keep up to date with current trends, tools and attack vectors.
Knowledge of IT Security defense in depth best practices
Ability to investigate, ask questions and pay attention to details to ensure accuracy in documentation and data.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Critical thinking, good judgment and relationship management skills
Scripting and programing skills (bash, python, perl, c, java, PowerShell, etc)
Project Management (ability to track detailed tasks and ensure timely delivery)
Windows, Linux or Security Certifications.
