A leader in events planning and software solutions is looking for a junior developer to join their team of highly skilled software engineers. With clients hosting events from Las Vegas to New Orleans to DC, this company is very fast-growing and wide-reaching. The teams will occasionally be able to travel to these events if they so choose. (Imagine sitting poolside at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and getting paid to be there!)
The team is looking for a developer skilled in object-oriented programming, preferably in C# .NET. However, as this is a Junior position, the priority is finding someone with a strong foundation and a passion for programming. They do, however, require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputable university.

The programmer analyst will install, maintain, and support commercial administrative software applications for multiple College functional areas, and develop local applications and modifications to support Hood-unique requirements. RequirementsApplications Programming and Database Support (100%) Support the operations of functionally diverse campus offices and maintain campus-wide software applications: * Install, maintain and upgrade campus-wide information systems; * Support users of campus-wide information systems in a Windows environment; * Assist users in developing standard and ad-hoc reports on various tools; * Analyze and design systems to solve business problems; * Train users in the employment of campus-wide software and information gathering and reporting tools; * Share critical information with other members of the IT department in a timely fashion; * Create new and modified screens, windows, and scripts for third-party software to support daily operations; * Write, debug, test, and install programmatic code as determined; * Develop detailed documentation for institution specific SOPs; * Develop Web programs and interfaces to link campus-wide databases; * Automate electronic data interchanges within Hood and with selected external parties; * Perform other duties as required. Education and/or Experience A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science or a related field and a minimum of one to two years' experience developing computer programs or applications or equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Experience in higher education is a plus. Technology Skills * Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 including T-SQL and Enterprise Manager; * Capable of generating functional user reports SQL Reporting Services; * Knowledge of current Windows operating system; * Functional understanding of web programming, especially C# and ASP.NET; * Experience with MS Sharepoint; * Knowledge of current best practices in data security. Language Skills Strong command of the English language, both oral and written. Ability to read technical manuals and research information to troubleshoot problems. Ability to effectively communicate complex information to persons outside the profession, and respond collegially to questions from external and internal customers both in person, in writing and on the telephone. Reasoning Ability Ability to decompose complex problems into discrete, manageable solution sets; to solve problems that deal with a number of variables in situations where only limited precedents exist; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; and to work independently in developing and executing project plans, yet recognize when the plan impacts another organizational element and requires coordination. Ability to work in the theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with and apply basic mathematical and statistical concepts and their applications. Ability to see mathematical errors in system implementation and recommend changes to correct errors.
