Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible for application development and support for more than 350 critical business systems including Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing).
Markets & Market Risk Technology (MMRT) within CMIST provides technology management and application development for Foreign Exchange (FX), Securities Finance, Global Collateral Management, Liquidity Management, and Fixed Income & Equities businesses. This group also supports the company's market risk and counterparty credit risk platforms.
We are looking for a junior developer who can learn, adapt and help build this next generation system. They will have the unique opportunity to build a sophisticated high performance FX execution application using the latest technology stack and best software engineering practices. They will become the members of the core team driving it forward and will have a significant impact in how it's implemented.
Lead Developer->> Provides application software development services or technical support in situations of moderate complexity. May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation.
Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Conducts reviews of the test Plan and test Data. Writes new programs of moderate complexity and scope, working with basic application system designs and specifications, utilizing BNY Mellon's standard development methodology, procedures and techniques.
Designs and codes programs, and creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and revise programs. Prepares the final and detailed versions of system modification requirements, ensures turnovers are done on time and correctly. Interfaces with architects to design, code, test and implement application programs.
Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.
Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
4 to 6 years of experience in software development required
2 to 3 years of recent experience with Java tech stack
Proficient and hands on with Java/JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Angular, HTML5, Rest API, JDBC/JPA/Hibernate
Additional Preferred skills: Oracle, Tomcat and Apache, Caching technologies Hazelcast, MQ Interfacing, Maven, Git, SonarQube, Docker, ESB
Should have thorough knowledge of the software development cycle.
Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
