Job Description

We are seeking a talented Junior Interior Designer to join our growing in-house design team! Be part of the reimagination of our brand as we plan to renovate 1/3 of our portfolio in the next 3 years.

Junior Interior Designer provides support and documentation throughout all design phases for designated hotel renovations. Internal interior design department handles renovations of all hotel areas as scheduled in the yearly capital plan including guestrooms, corridors, restaurants, meeting spaces, public spaces, retail, spas, outdoor areas, pools, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Junior Interior Designer reports to Senior Director of Interior Design. The individual's primary areas of responsibility will be to assist Senior Interior Designers and provide support in design of interior design process on renovation projects and delivering creative, thoughtful, and high-quality design in both FF&E and Construction Documents.

  • Collaborates with Senior Interior Designer and project team in space planning, FF&E selections, presentation content including material/finish boards, rendered elevations, 3D renderings, imagery, concept visuals and etc.

  • Assists in generating content for all project ID documents (i.e. FF&E specifications) and construction documentation under supervision of Senior Interior Designer.

  • Responsible for internal presentation of project design materials to Senior Interior Designer for review; participates in the presentations to executive team.

  • Assists with review of FF&E and GC submittals (specifically, FF&E shop drawings, CFAs, millwork shop drawings, architectural finishes, lighting submittals, plumbing submittals, etc.) under the supervision of Senior Interior Designer.

  • Communicates progress and completion of tasks with their supervisor.

  • Attends site visits as directed by Senior Interior Designer.

  • Assists with FF&E and GC punch lists, meeting minutes and field reports.

  • Organizes and archives project interior design records upon project closet out.

  • Assists with material library.

  • Follows interior design and hotel industry trends. Introduces new ideas and resources to the team.

  • Participates in company events, takes initiative, and contributes to the overall culture and success of Omni Hotels & Resorts

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in an architectural or interior design firm with emphasis on hospitality

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited Interior Design program

  • Team player with ability to switch gears easily and multitask.

  • Highly motivated individual who progressively seeks additional responsibilities.

  • Ability to handle shifting priorities, timelines and demands in a fast-paced, deadline driven working environment.

  • Excellent time management and organization skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Skilled in visual research and material sourcing.

  • Experience in writing FF&E specifications, FF&E matrices, quantity take-offs.

  • Travel approximately 5% of time.

  • Must be willing to travel via airplane.

  • Daily working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Proficient in AutoCad, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam, Spexx (or equal specs writing software).

  • Sketch Up (not required but preferred).

  • NCIDQ certification or Professional Licensure is encouraged (will compensate for licensure fees and CEUs when able to sit for test*)
