What you'll do

In this new role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services People team, you will be primarily focused on supporting the various functional groups in People Operations, including HR Services, Payroll, Benefits, Technology, Compliance, Employee Relations, etc. The focus of this role is operationalizing Human Resources processes and systems and providing best-in-class HR service and experience for our People.

The People Operations Professional is a full-time role reporting to a People Operations Director located in Southfield, Michigan. Paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Respond to routine staff inquiries regarding human resources related matters.

  • Update and maintain internal databases and systems with employee information, distributing information as needed.

  • Assist with human resource audits and documenting key business processes.

  • Maintain files, correspondences, and reports, including assistance with the digitalization of personnel records.

  • Respond to and complete employment verification requests, escalating complex requests.

  • Respond to and complete requests from various functions within the firm, partnering with various People teams including PBPs, Talent, D&I, Recruiting, etc.

  • Assist with general background check operations and completion of new hire I-9 forms.

  • Assist with maintenance of general policy & procedures and assist in preparation of data sets for required federal, state, and local government reports and filings.

  • Assist in conducting reviews of employment agreements and related HR documents to ensure compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.

  • Pull and organize communications and notices into the appropriate team folders and mailboxes.

  • Communicate with new hire population on various preboarding activities.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field highly preferred.

  • Professional certifications in HR or contract management are desirable (e.g. PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications.

  • Ability to be discreet and handle confidential, sensitive information.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to organize, manage, and prioritize responsibilities effectively, adapt to changing circumstances to meet key deadlines under time constraints so work is completed in an accurate, timely manner.

  • Familiarity with HCM (Human Capital Management) software is a plus (e.g. Oracle, Workday, SAP, Ultipro, ADP, etc.).

  • Commitment to professionalism and personal growth, with a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork as a path to success.

  • Flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.

  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States. No VISAs available for this position.
