Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Junior Hardware/Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be supporting the development and production of pedals under iconic brands such as MXR, Cry Baby, and Way Huge Electronics. You will collaborate extensively not only with our team of electrical and software engineers, but also musicians, product designers, and manufacturing.

The Research & Development office is composed of a small, versatile group of engineers, many of whom are musicians themselves. Because of this, you will be surrounded by passionate people, be able to both gain and share knowledge with peers, and have an immediate impact on the company's product line. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and shape the next generation of music products used by musicians worldwide.


  • Troubleshooting, soldering and rework of printed circuit prototypes
  • Assembly of hardware prototypes
  • Pickup and delivery of samples from vendors
  • General maintenance of facilities
  • Ordering, stocking, and inventory of electronic components
  • Documenting electrical and mechanical subassemblies, internal processes, and meeting notes
  • Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed or in-progress associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
  • Experience soldering on both through-hole and surface mount components
  • Experience with basic electronics test equipment
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for music and music gear
  • Experience with machine shop tools and 3D printers
  • Experience with PCB layout software such as Altium Designer, PADS, EAGLE

Supports in planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects, provides electrical assistance to Maintenance and Operations departments, and develops electrical system reliability programs and procedures that ensure the Refinery electrical system is operating at maximum efficiency and reliability.</p><ul><li><p>Provides technical assistance to the refinery on routine daily electrical issues, including providing troubleshooting assistance to the Electricians, making recommendations to the refinery on field repairs, interpretation of Electrical data gathered during Preventative Maintenance Work orders, and consultations with Design Engineering on electrical design packages.</p></li><li><p>Assists Operations and Maintenance Departments during Electrical System Disturbances.</p></li><li><p>Creates and updates electrical drawings such as one-line diagrams, motor schematics, panel schedules, and other related drawings as needed.</p></li><li><p>Prepares and submit Management of Change (MOC) documentation related to electrical systems and projects and champion the change process through to Pre-Startup Safety Review, Startup of the change and Closeout of the MOC.</p></li><li><p>Develops and stewards electrical system reliability improvement opportunities, including participation in development and execution of a strategy to improve plant electrical reliability. This strategy involves capital improvement, preventive maintenance, repair strategies, etc.</p></li><li><p>Updates and maintains ETAP electrical system model as electrical system additions and changes occur.</p></li><li><p>Prepares Refinery short circuit studies, load flow studies, arc flash studies, and motor starting studies as needed.</p></li><li><p>Prepares high voltage switching procedures.
