Reporting to the Director of Actuarial Reporting, the Lead Associate is a key member of a team responsible for the preparation of accurate and meaningful financial analysis and reports for use by senior management in managing the business. Working closely with key members of the Actuarial and Controllers teams, the position will be responsible for the reporting of AXA Equitable's portfolio of Life insurance products and be involved in the analysis of financial results. Key Responsibilities include:
Support Director in the analysis and reporting of financial results.
Accounting for Reserves and DAC including monthly journals and documentation
Research and detail variance findings between current results and prior periods
Assist in preparing presentations for Senior Management
Bachelors degree with Mathematics and/or Computer Science major with up to two years of related experience in computer programming, quantitative analysis, etc.
Experience working in Financial/Insurance industry a plus.
Ability to work independently to meet project deadlines, and work within a fast-paced, project-driven and team environment
Demonstrates analytical skills and capability to work with large amounts of data
Good communication skills are essential as the candidate will be required to converse with individual in various departments of the Company
Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Access /SQL, are considered a plus
Basic understanding of US GAAP accounting and reporting concepts
Flexibility to provide late and weekend close coverage during quarterly closes
