Job description: Produce specifications for, design, develop, manufacture, and install new or modified mechanical components or systems on aircraft. Needs to be technically minded, able to demonstrate and use engineering concepts, analyses and have problem-solving skills.

Job Duties:

  • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
  • Develops mechanical and electromechanical products; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from aircraft technicians.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by working closely with manufacturing vendors are required.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods as required; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation of parts.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains documentation including databases, paperwork, compliance records and more
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations and meeting/ exceeding company ethics and grooming standards.
  • Maintains system and product data base by entering data.
  • Completes projects and helps in guiding aircraft and Engineering technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Engineer Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements:Analysis & Design Skills, Presenting Technical Information, Conceptual Skills, Quality Focus, General Consulting Skills, Control Engineering, Production Planning, Technical Zeal, Job Knowledge, safety and compliance focused, software proficient in: MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Autocad, Solidworks or similar CAD programs. Programming skills and web experience a plus

This position performs major electrical and mechanical repair and assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Install and repair major system issues such as galley equipment, laundry equipment and other plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners * Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains * Dismantle machines and equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms * Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulley, gears, and bearings. * Replace or repair machine belts * Notify management concerning the need for major repairs and/or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment * Replace air conditioning filters * Ensure tools, equipment, and working areas are kept clean and in order * Participate and ensure participation of all USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures as directed * Performs other duties if required since above stated describe only a regular working day and may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results Requirements & Qualifications Education: * HS Diploma or Equivalent Required * Professional Certification(s) or License: * USCG License in any engineering capacity desirable * Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) - if applicable, and/or ability to obtain and maintain * Valid MMC * Copy of DD214, if Veteran status Skills & Abilities: * Excellent verbal and written communications skills; must be fluent in English * Ability to interact with individuals at all levels in a pleasant and professional manner Experience: * Two to three years of experience required in a position with similar duties and responsibilities * Cruise industry experience preferred Other: * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.
