Mission Statement

Work closely under the supervision of the Design Team to facilitate task including, but not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Pattern development, as necessary for both running-line and custom opportunities


Market & Design research, including:

Flooring trends & news

Trends on pattern and color, inside and outside of the industry

Understanding the competitive set

Sharing the research, through presentations, reports, or visuals

Construction of mood boards and material boards

These would be for studio use, sharing with other departments and for customer presentations. Meeting types would include:

Portfolio meetings and Gate meetings

Color standard boards


Mock-up folder development

Assist in cutting, arranging, adhering and labeling samples according to pre-determined color layout

Contribute to naming of patterns and colorlines

Manage the libraries and tools (boards, documents, spreadsheets) for the Design department

Set up and maintain Mannington Commercials running line folder library

Maintain the competitive library, as needed

Maintain top sales board in Design studio

Manage publications library

Assist with yarn management

General studio maintenance

Support Design team on new product development, as necessary

Contribute design concepts, as required

Assist in color development

Assist in CAD renderings (printing and managing communication)

Requesting samples for prototype development

General office duties

Fulfilling requests from other departments and sales force, as necessary

Coordinating with individuals from other departments for shipments, deliveries, retrievals, etc.

Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with zero to three years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
