The successful candidate will interface with project design engineers, parts commodity specialists, and vendor/supplier personnel to identify appropriate parts for use in spaceflight applications. Review project Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-mechanical parts lists for compliance with NASA GSFC and Project pecific quality and reliability requirements.

Participate with Lead Project Parts Engineers in support of the Parts Control Board and Failure Review Board meetings. Review Screening, lot acceptance testing, and destructive physical analysis results, providing concise synopses for lot disposition justification. Act as technical interface to the GSFC and SSAI procurement organizations.

Provide technical and administrative support for the Lead Parts Engineer. Travel domestically when required (less than 10%). Undergrad or Graduate degree from an accredited college in the field of electrical engineering, or equivalent. New college graduate or 1 year of experience with background in the development of electrical or electronics engineering.

Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace Engineering or Physics or a related technical field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Able to manage and prioritize activities to effective support multiple projects/tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills. US Citizenship required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Microsoft Access (or other relational database package) is a plus.

VIEW JOBS 8/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-11T00:00 This "as needed" (casual) position entails providing comprehensive pre-seal inspections for multiple EEE parts types, including but not limited to hybrids, relays, switches, multi-chip modules, optoelectronics devices. The inspections will be performed in accordance with the applicable military and NASA standards and specifications, and NASA GSFC Parts, Packaging and Advanced Technologies guidelines. Vendors may be located throughout the United States, as well as foreign locations. Inspection schedules are generally scheduled by the manufacturer with five business days notice. Quantity and part types will vary depending on the project and vendor. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must possess an understanding of military and space requirements for electrical/electronic parts. Familiarity with proper mechanical handling and packaging of electronic parts and assemblies; Knowledge and training in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures and requirements; Ability to work independently as well as a member of a project team with limited supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) for reporting purposes. Desired Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in high reliability EEE parts manufacturing, testing, inspection, or verification is required. It is highly desirable for the candidate to be knowledgeable of NASA and Military specifications and standards, outgassing criteria and ESD handling methods for space flight or aviation projects.
