DNV GL - Energy is seeking a Junior Analyst - Wind Energy to join our team. The primary function of this position is to assess the wind resource and expected energy output of proposed or operational wind projects across North America.

Tasks May Include
Conducting long-term wind resource and energy production assessments
Analyzing wind and other climatic data
Inspecting sites and measurement equipment
Performing wind flow modeling
Assessing site conditions for turbine suitability
Predicting wind farm energy production
Conducting statistical uncertainty analyses
Writing technical reports and communicating results to clients
Troubleshooting configuration issues during deployment and rollout activities.
Supporting customer implementation team during post deployment and rollout activities.
Performing training and presentations to new and existing customers.
Identifying opportunities to add value to customers' implementations
Advising external customers on best practice in order that they get the best possible return on investment
Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering, atmospheric science, or quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred
Without a Master's degree, 1+ years of professional experience required
Comprehensive understanding of wind flow principles
Aptitude in the statistical analysis of data
Proficiency with GH WindFarmer and WAsP a plus
Proficiency in Python programming is a plus
Familiarity with Python programming, Python data science packages (e.g. NumPy and pandas) and version control systems (e.g. Git) are pluses
Proficiency with MS Office Word/Excel/Access
Strong overall computer skills and ability to learn multiple software tools,
Understanding of wind energy industry measurement techniques and standards,
Thorough knowledge of various mapping tools and map formats.
Excellent written and verbal English skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
Ability to write technical reports and commercial correspondence
Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely
Proven QHSE mindset
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
