Junior Accounting Manager

What You'll Do

ECS Limited has an opportunity for a talented Junior Accounting Manager to join our rapidly growing Corporate accounting team in Chantilly with a primary focus on assisting with the implementation of our new accounting program, Microsoft Dynamics. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting system implementation, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to Microsoft Dynamics. Once Dynamics is fully implemented, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and providing leadership to the accounting team. This role includes managing accounting staff, coordinating with other departments, and supporting senior management with financial analysis and reporting.

Initial Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the planning, design, and execution of the Microsoft Dynamics accounting program implementation.

• Train and support accounting staff on Dynamics functionalities and best practices.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls in regard to Dynamics.

• Collaborate with accounting team, IT, and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

• Software and Systems: Assist with and support the implementation and maintenance of accounting software through best practices; Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial systems and data.

• Staff Management and Leadership: Manage, develop, and mentor accounting staff; Assign tasks and projects, monitor progress, and provide performance evaluations; Ensure adequate staffing needs for your team with the support of the internal recruiting team; Collaborate with other departments to support organizational goals and decision-making as needed.

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements; Analyze financial data and create ad hoc reports for senior management.

• General Ledger and Reconciliation: Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes; Assist with performing monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and close processes; Ensure timely and accurate completion of all accounting tasks.

• Internal Controls and Audits: Assist with the development and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures; Support internal and external audits; Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 6+ years of relevant experience required.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

• Experience with implementation of Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred.
