Your Impact
The Jr. Accountant position works with the Controller to maintain the accounting operations of Aspiranet and the accuracy in its reporting. This role requires thorough examination, detailed analysis, maintenance, reconciliation of financial data from the Organization's ledger accounts, and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of company data and compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Your Skills and Duties
Record, bank, and key all cash receipts; prepare A/R monthly adjustments (will need to be approved by Controller), reflecting any changes in adjusted Days of Care.
Post cash receipts of A/R payments on a deposit basis.
Responsible and maintain A/R cash sheet, including maintenance of schedules that ensures ending balance ties out to G/L.
Assist Sr. Accountant in the preparation of month-end & year-end close.
Determine clothing and educational travel checks received from various Counties and
submit payments to Foster Parents in a timely manner.
Act as a back-up to the Sr. Accountant and Accountant I for bank reconciliations.
Work with the Controller and team to pull documentation as needed for audits.
Generate monthly bank statements including Transitional Aged Youth emancipation savings accounts.
Provide recommendations to process improvements that will assist in the evolving growth of the Company's systems, procedures, and records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years' of progressive accounting experience.
Proficiency with MS Office; advanced Microsoft Excel experience desired.
Position requires a high level of attention to detail, a well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, including strong organizational skills.
Have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle tasks with flexibility to adapt and adjust on an ad hoc basis.
Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL, and clean driving record.
