Judicial Specialist 2 (D5 146470 Call Center Location Tbd)

The Fifth Judicial District has an immediate opening for a Judicial Specialist 2 to join our Clerk of Court Team.  The primary duties for this position will be answering incoming calls for the Statewide Payment Call Center and applying payments to court debts owed to the Iowa Judicial Branch. Domicile will be determined based on the successful candidate.

The starting salary for new State employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The starting pay for this position is $38,667.20 annually, $18.59 hourly. Adjustments may be made if the successful applicant has relevant legal experience.

Hours: Monday

• Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM  (Potential for remote work)

Under the direct supervision of the Payment Call Center Supervisor and Clerk of Court, candidates will learn several computer programs utilized in the payment center in order to collect payments due to the Iowa Judicial Branch efficiently. You will collaborate with the payment center team and your direct supervisor to ensure the best processes are implemented and all resources are current.

• Human Resources Enterprise.Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.

Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor's Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.  Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
