Job Summary
Under regular direction and in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, assists Judicial Officers with case flow management regarding jailed individuals, records management, customer service, and processing cash transactions. Manages case flow by reviewing court documents to determine if a Judicial Officer is required to issue an arrest warrant.
Enters uniform traffic tickets in the Court's case management system. Prepares and generates a variety of complex documents regarding the cases(s) submitted for Judicial Officer review and signature. Coordinates transport of in-custody defendants with Court Security and the detention facility.
Maintains the integrity of the jailed defendant filing system by monitoring proper access and submitting case files in a timely manner to the Court.
Ensures quality control of data and records for accurate rules, practices and/or requirements. Receives and reviews documents to determine conformity with appropriate rules, practices and/or requirements.
Prepares court documents including checklists, commitments, discharges and bond papers. Serves as a knowledgeable resource for state statutes, City ordinances, policies, business processes and other judicial or criminal justice information. Provides customer service by staffing phone lines and answering advanced public inquiries on jailed case statuses, availability and location of records without giving legal advice.
Acts as a liaison between the Court, bond company representatives, defense attorneys, the public and other parties to ensure that cases proceed smoothly and efficiently. Processes and documents cash transactions by receiving bond payments and issuing receipts, secure funds in safe and balances at the end of the shift. Assists with and/or leads special projects as needed or assigned. This position works a varied schedule including nights and weekends primarily at the Greenville County Detention Center.

Job Requirements
Associate degree in criminal justice, or a related field.
Over four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in related field.

Knowledge of:
Principles and processes involved in the administration and operations of Municipal Court.
Court related policies, operations and processes at the local, state and national levels.
Municipal Court related laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents and government regulations.
Various repositories of information used in police records and related legal documents.
Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including a desire to help customers regardless of their circumstance.
Administrative/clerical procedures and systems such as word-processing systems and office terminology.
Ability to:
Perform records processing and management, including entry of citations/arrest warrants in the Court database.
Respond to and resolve difficult citizen inquiries and complaints, assist defendants and attorneys with Court processes and advise the public on Municipal Court policies, procedures and regulations.
Identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Accurately process cash and monetary payments and issue receipts for bond and bench warrant payments.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
Communicate with others in person, in writing and by telephone as indicated by the needs of the audience.
Read, analyze and interpret affidavits, professional journals, financial reports, legal documents, and governmental regulations as well as other documents used by the department.
Write reports, prepare legal documents, and compose emails in a clear and professional manner.
Operate general office equipment to include scanner, printer, copier, telephone, fax machine, calculator, and computer with Microsoft Office Suite.
Utilize specialized software and systems to include Adobe Reader, Naviline/AS400 Applications (Greenville County AS400), SC Case Management System and related court/case management system.
