In this role, the Junior Transportation Planner will work under the direction of Project Managers and Task Leads to perform the routine aspects of transportation planning and Project Development and Environment (PD&E) assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company. The Junior Transportation Planner will work on a variety of projects pertaining to transportation studies.
Assist Project Manager in tracking and executing project schedules
Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers, planners and technicians in his/her discipline group
Assist in conducting multimodal corridor planning studies
Perform research to ensure planning consistency with other local, regional, and statewide efforts
Participate and assist with the coordination efforts of public outreach activities such as public meetings, public hearings or smaller stakeholder engagement activities
Participate in executing PD&E studies
Assist in conducting Long Range Transportation Planning studies
Draft technical memos, formal reports, and other deliverable documents under the supervision of a Project Manager or Technical Lead
Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Planning or equivalent
EI certificate preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized self-starter capable of assisting on multiple projects at once
Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at minimum
Previous full time, part time, or internship in the area of transportation, is preferred
Previous PD&E experience, is preferred
