Job Description:

CACI is seeking a Jr. Survivability Engineer to design, develop, and analyze new ship systems for multiple government customers in Washington D.C. The Survivability Engineer will provide support in modeling, reviewing, analyzing, and reporting out on survivability topics including ship susceptibility, vulnerability, and recoverability.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Analyze new ship systems and design for our government customers

  • Create and execute test plans for surrogate and shipboard test

  • Support survivability design work and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) for ongoing ship programs

  • Work with a small team to support the Test and Evaluation work.

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to prepare documentation of test schedules, development testing and operational testing requirements, and provide updates to Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).

  • Complete tasking under Government direction. Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings.

  • Develop technical justifications in support of programmatic positions and decisions in support of planned events.

  • Learn survivability concepts and terminology on the job

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Experience in operating and maintaining the Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE).

  • Experience with Electromagnetic Aircraft Launching Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG)

  • Exposure to shipboard systems and engineering experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Working knowledge of naval ships, their systems, and operations

You will provide engineering guidance to support the development and test of advanced aircraft. Interact daily with Air Force program managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber) to assist the government with technical assessments, strategic planning, and engineering evaluations. This position will be seated in the Washington DC area or Chantilly, VA area. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: * Assist system engineers in developing aircraft survivability specifications. * Assess and review aircraft survivability specifications. * Assist in the development of aircraft survivability test plans. * Review test data from survivability test and evaluation. * Provide performance assessments. * Support the development of survivability support subsystems that enhance aircraft maintainability. * Work with contractors and government engineering and test personnel. Qualifications * 8+ years' of specialty experience demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of all technical aspects related to aircraft survivability (e.g., visual, audio, infrared and radio frequency). * Engineer III level expereince with recent significant systems engineering experience in the design, development, and testing of processes, technology and subsystems related to aircraft survivability. * Specific knowledge of classified test and evaluation capabilities used to develop advanced aircraft characteristics.
