Job Summary Reporting to the Grants Accounting Manager or their designee, the Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly Grant and fiscal accounts payable (A/P)duties, grant invoice support, month-end reporting, and record keeping. Contacts and interactions vary and may involve multiple constituencies such as direct interaction with Total Health Care’s management, vendors, auditors, assigned staff, contractors, and consultants for the purpose of providing and exchanging information.

Example of Essential Job Functions Assist Grants Accounting Manager and others in the grant section of THC in daily operations. Support the grants team activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation. Coordinate vendor invoices/receipts for monthly grant invoicing process.

Process A/P entries with emphasis on coding grants properly. Communicate with program leadership regarding credit card expenses and reconciliation to support monthly grant invoicing process. Tracking and reconciliation of grant accounts receivable.

Tracking and reconciliation of grant cash receipts. Tracking grant closeout report deadlines. Managing grant & contract electronic files by fiscal year.

Coordinate grant & contract documents for submission. Upload documents to HRSA’s Electronic Handbook (EHB). Assist with fiscal month-end close. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all fiscal transactions.

Review the general ledger for accuracy. Prepare reconciliation to include but not limited to bank accounts, investment accounts, receivables, payables, etc. Prepare fiscal documentation for external auditors.

Assist in fiscal year-end review procedures. Maintain various fiscal schedules to include fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accounts payable. Ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested.

Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required AA degree or pursuing an AA degree in business with an emphasis in accounting Entry level – experience in accounting or back-office management experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Total Health Care Inc. is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving vulnerable communities, and those uninsured and underinsured. Working knowledge/general understanding of accounting Good leadership qualities and customer service, effective communication skills, personable and professional.

Ability to plan and organize. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate as appropriate. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to think critically as well as apply critical thinking skills. Licenses and Certifications n/a Physical Demands Ability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Work Environment Total Health Care Inc.’s Finance Department is currently working on a hybrid schedule, where staff currently works onsite 2 days a week until further notice.
