Candidate will provide engineering support in the development, integration, test, and analysis of a simulated vehicle. The task will involve developing and integrating system and subsystem models coded in C++ which represent behavior of vehicle subsystem hardware (such as Booster, Liquid Engine, Main Propulsion System, Thrust Vector Control, Avionics, and\or Guidance, Navigation and Control) in order to test the vehicles mission and fault management algorithms. This will include developing C++ code to facilitate testing of the algorithms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop test procedures to perform nominal and off-nominal system test cases to verify the algorithm operation for pre-flight and in-flight scenarios. This will require interfacing with the Integrated Development Teams, vehicle elements, and other organizations to ensure the simulations adequately represent the vehicle performance.
Participate in recurring vehicle, discipline and sub-system meetings to gather technical data, distribute analysis results, work technical issues and collaborate with stakeholder organizations.
Participate in discipline, project and program level reviews as necessary, to include but not limited to presenting results, issues, reviewing documents and working issues as they arise.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited institution is required.
At least 5 years of experience.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Proficiency in programming with C/C++ is required. Must be able to conduct and participate in design and code reviews.
Experience as an intern or on a college project team using systems engineering, project management involving launch vehicle subsystem operations.
Experience with MatLab Simulink modelling tools and simulations desired.
Ability to understand UML diagrams of detailed software designs desired.
Exposure to tools/languages such as: XML, SVN, Python and familiarity working Linux batch scripting would be a plus.
Familiar with System Modeling and Simulation integration, testing and related data analysis.
Excellent technical writing and communications skills are required.
Effectively communicate technical information via written reports and PowerPoint presentations.
