Description: Under the close supervision of the Group Lead or Team Lead:

Support PV product responsible teams and participate in development core teams and core medical teams.

Conduct ongoing monitoring and assessment of the safety profile of assigned developmental and marketed products as a member of study teams and for representing PV in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of Phase 1 Phase 3 clinical trials and Post-Authorization Studies.

Perform timely identification and communication of emerging safety issues and safety updates of the Company Core Data Sheet, Investigator s Brochure and local product labeling.

Contribute to the design of safety surveillance strategies and manage safety signals for drug products, both those in development and marketed products, for the collection and identification of safety signals using safety data for signal surveillance activities, categorization and prioritization of safety signals and for authoring, medical review and, as appropriate, approval of safety evaluation reports (SERs).

Support risk management of assigned drug products, both those in development and marketed products, the development and submission of the Risk Management Plan (RMP) and for the execution of risk management strategies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Create regulatory reports and analytical papers, gathering and categorizing data, providing initial medical analysis and/or overall benefit/risk.

Create, or assist in creating:

PBRERs, DSURs, PADERs
Signal detection activities
Create and/or review safety portions of submission documents

Ability to participate in bridging communications between business and Medical Safety to ensure appropriate safety context is conveyed.

Coordinate, monitor and assess the safety profile of one or more specific products assigned to the Global TA under supervision of the TA group lead or TA team lead.

Requirements:

Bachelor' s degree in a scientific, health-related field
At least 3 years of hands on PV experience in clinical and/or post marketing
Solid understanding of regulations impacting Pharma industry in the US and globally, especially drug safety/ PV
Hands on experience writing/reviewing Aggregate Reports, e.g., PBRERs, DSURs, and PADERs
Hands on experience with signal detection activities such as analyzing/categorizing/
assessing data
Strong leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent listening and comprehension skills
Ability to work effectively in a matrix setting to resolve issues and achieve common goals

Purpose & Scope: The Enterprise Data Scientist provides robust solutions from complex and high-dimensional internal datasets using state-of-the-art data mining, simulation and modeling techniques. Large and/or complex projects, interact with cross-functional/cross-division teams, and will be responsible for the analytical soundness of all project plans, output and deliverables for the assigned projects. Projects will span across all therapeutic areas, functions and geographies. The deliverables of the Enterprise Data Scientist are an integral part of the business decision-making and require expertise in creation, quality control and maintenance of statistical programs for the creation of tables, figures and listings. The Data Scientist will be able to recognize statistical issues as they create project plans, data definitions and analyses from internal databases and will be able to collaborate with the customer, Lead Enterprise Analytics Services, and/or Decision Science colleague to address these issues. Essential Job Responsibilities: * Advising on analytics plan or simulation designs across approved projects, especially in support of the corporate strategic plan directions for value creation * Along with Decision Science and RWI Data Management meets regularly with internal and external stakeholders to identify projects aligned with the corporate strategic plan directions for value creation * Collaborate with analysts located across the Astellas business via targeted training, consultations, and review * Executing analytics projects using R, SAS, SQL, Python or other statistical programming languages to prepare and/or merge internal data assets and perform statistical analysis * Executing simulation designs using R, SAS, Python and simulation software such as AnyLogic, Simul8, and Simulink * Contribute to multiple internal data initiatives, including but not limited to: new tool development, automation and machine learning, NLP, simulation, data integration, visualization and informatics dashboards. * Contribute to and/or lead the design, assessment and interpretation of internal data projects in a statistically relevant context to support business data needs * Ensure quality and consistency of complex analytics deliverables by developing robust processes and capabilities specific to internal company data projects * Ensure that statistical analyses are performed in accordance with good statistical practice and applicable regulatory guidelines * Quantify the business process by statistics and management science to increase business decision quality * Identify and manage collaborations across multiple internal data owners * Meets regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding of the project design, required output and timelines Quantitative Dimensions: The Enterprise Data Scientist is responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across multiple products and therapeutic areas to provide statistical expertise. They are expected to support multiple large and small projects across all therapeutic areas and functions within Astellas. Projects will be defined as, but not limited to, modelling and predictive analytics utilizing internal data assets, and advanced simulations of company processes (real processes as in manufacturing or business processes). The results produced must be reproducible, statistically sound, implementable, and informative for the customer. Organizational Context: The Enterprise Data Scientist reports to the Lead Enterprise Analytics Services. They will have multiple cross-collaborative project teams and matrix responsibilities across the RWI division.
