  • Deliver first level remote infrastructure hardware and software support services as directed by client contracts to resolve product use and multi-product/platform problems, and/or questions relating to enterprise systems, networks and application software, as well as desktop applications that are related to network connectivity that are beyond the scope of the client's first level help desk support function.

  • Provides referrals and/or dispatches to other service providers to ensure that client's service level and technical requirements are met.

  • Provides alerts and situation status information to both client and Unisys management.

  • During times that the issue is identified to be non-network related, still provide excellent customer service and at least direct the customer in the right direction.

Day to Day Work

  • Performing monitoring and triage of customer networks. This includes both responding to automated incidents generated by monitoring tools as well as creating manual tickets based on observations and/or customer requests.

  • A primary focus is the response to, triage, and management of incidents to resolution which may include coordination with third-party vendors, customer contacts, or other groups.

  • Paramount to this activity is keeping notes in the tracking tickets updated with accurate details.

Technical and Behavioral Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Background investigation and drug screen required

  • 1-2 years of experience in network technologies.

  • Knowledge on LAN, WLAN and WAN technology domains

  • Experience in 24/7 NOC environment

  • Cisco CCNA/ CCNP or equivalent certification.

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the technical requirements

  • Solid troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Enterprise networking and security (routing and switching protocols, network architecture, connectivity options, network management, remote access, data security, standards and compliance, identity management, log management etc.)

  • Ability to prioritize effectively and work with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to work independently with a significant attention to detail

  • Ability to manage issues and projects to consistently meet deadlines

  • Professional level internetworking troubleshooting experience.

  • Knowledge of network design concepts, network management, network availability & capacity planning.

  • Knowledge in IP internetworking and LAN/WAN

  • Basic understanding of Checkpoint firewall, load balancers

  • Ability to operate at all levels within the organization and cross functionally within multiple Cisco organizations.

  • Excellent verbal, written, content development and training skills.

  • Ability to identify and analyze complex problems and decompose into actionable and measurable plans.

  • Self-motivated, strong initiative and be customer focused.

  • Good team player.

About the Field Data Center Technical Support Technician – Federal Accounts HPE Pointnext Global Shared Delivery is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for an opportunity as a Field Data Center Technical Support Technician for some of HPE's larger Federal clients in the Salt Lake City area. In this role, you'll provide onsite support to our Federal clients in the greater Salt Lake City area. No relocation assistance available. In this full-time position, you will use your background in field technical support or technical customer service, as well as your technical knowledge and training, to manage a strategic client relationship in this area. Based on the clients' needs, the support services you will provide include reactive break/fix support and installations in server, networking, and storage environments. This position requires a current active TS-SCI clearance, and will require a US Government background check and fingerprinting for site access badges. As a result, US citizenship is required. Requirements This role includes routinely lifting and carrying 50+ pounds, so the physical strength, balance, and dexterity to enable that ability is required.
