Job Purpose: Support environmental site characterization and remediation projects for clients across the globe and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.
As a Civil Engineer you will have the chance to support site characterization and remediation projects for a range of clients located primarily in the southwest region of the United States. With Jacobs you will develop remediation plans and manage and execute multiple complex environmental remediation projects. In this role you will contribute to the overall strategy and approach to the remediation of large, complex project sites. You will have in-depth knowledge of both in-situ and ex-situ remediation methods for soil and groundwater and help develop and lead large and diverse project teams in all phases of planning, execution, and delivery of site remediation, engineering and design work. Interact and negotiate with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients and contribute to delivery of strategic project objectives which include: health, safety, environmental responsibility; risk management; client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget; financial performance for project specific targets; project team and field program expectations; operational performance and line of business expectations; and quality.
Provide creative solutions to complex environmental problems by combining regulatory risk assessment in combination with remedial technologies.
Prepare and review construction contracts, scopes of work and specification for remediation and design work, oversee staff and subcontractors conducting field investigations.
Focus on health and safety, develop client relationships and work alongside our Client Account and Project Managers to position for and win work.
To be considered for this role you must have at least 2 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry with emphasis on remediation of various media and associated aspects of environmental characterization.
Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering.
Must be able to obtain/maintain 40-hr HAZWOPER certification, and demonstrate a strong commitment to Health and Safety.
Experience completing remedial investigations and feasibilities studies.
Experience preparing and reviewing remediation design work for construction drawing packages and specifications.
Ability to demonstrate a strong record in health and safety, including experience with behavior-based health & safety programs.
Ability to demonstrate expertise in managing and executing projects, partnered with some business development experience within the site management, construction management and remediation.
Must be able be in the field up to 20%, including local/regional sites that will require overnight travel.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
3-6 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry with emphasis on remediation of various media and associated aspects of environmental characterization.
Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer in Arizona, or the ability to obtain reciprocal licensure.
Construction and/or field experience with implementation of remedial strategies.
