Seeking a self-motivated Mid to Senior Level Java Developer. Ideal candidates will be organized, possess excellent problem-solving skills and can pick up on new technologies quickly. They will be able to handle multiple overlapping projects, have strong follow-up skills and build/maintain strong working relationships as they collaborate closely within their own team as well as other IT functional group and business partners.
Candidates who apply need to have very strong Core Java experience. Currently the client is running in version 1.8 and but his not required.
This position is contract to hire and does require an in-person interview. All candidates who apply must be able to work in the United States without any current or future need for sponsorship.
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Java, J2EE or related technology
Develop strategic design and requirements on small systems or modules of large systems (large scale)
Guide and mentor junior developers in developing code and workflow procedures, and conduct code reviews
Proficiency in IDEs like Eclipse, Netbeans etc.
Working knowledge Application servers such as Websphere, Tomcat etc.
Experience on testing tools like JUNIT, Coverage tools like Cobertura
Experience on SOAP based webservices and/or REST based APIs like JSON
Perform general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation
Participates in estimation process, use case specifications, reviews of test plans and test cases, requirements, and project planning
Documents code/processes so that any other developer is able to dive in with minimal effort
Introduces tools and automates repetitive processes
Focus on Continuous Delivery Continuous Integration (CI/CD) using tools such as Jenkins
Experience working in an Agile environment
DevOps experience is a plus
Mainframe (CICS) experience is a plus
