Position Overview:
Entry level Engineer position that will assist in the design of engineer electrical equipment and electronic systems for marine and industrial power generation and propulsion equipment manufacturer.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Design and draft electrical schematics for AC Power generation equipment
Generate drawings for engine wire harness and interconnect cables
Create wiring schematics for service manuals
Performs electrical calculations for systems and ensures designs comply with relevant electrical codes
Size and select electrical components
Program operator interface and CAN based systems
Maintain engineering and technical documentation
Create light mechanical drawings related to electrical applications (enclosures, etc.)
Produce drawing revisions. Engineering Change Notices and bills of materials
Provide electrical engineering support to production staff
Collaborate with clients to approve electrical designs
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with others
Have strong problem-solving skills
Read blue prints
Technical writing experience is a plus
Works effectively with others in the Company to encourage teamwork and productivity.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; AC/DC generator and/or PLCs
Minimum 0-3 years' experience in above tasks
Marine experience a plus; experience with diesel engine controls and/or plant automation also considered
Experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks Draftsight software is required. either from school or
work experience
Exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and Outlook
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, most of the work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to the manufacturing plants for observation and research are required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
