Jr. Construction Field Assistant Summary:

Entry level field position assisting the Land Development team with the development of communities. This position is designed to be a temporary role that allows for the adequate time and exposure to the land development process with a goal to be promoted within the department to support a solid career path in land development.

Position will demand initiative, daily interaction with Lennar staff, City/County staff, consultants, and numerous trade partners with the opportunity to learn how to give direction and make sound decisions in the field. Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of land development from site clearing through the completion of finished home sites and tract final acceptance.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for assisting with the development of all aspects of community improvements and homesites in multiple communities.

  • Accept and take daily direction from Land Development Manager.

  • Assist with managing and maintaining construction schedules and budgets.

  • Assist with managing and communicating with the development team and providing solutions to important day-to-day problems that cannot be resolved in the field.

  • Work along land development manager to minimize extra construction costs.

  • Manage daily travel between job sites to assist with coordinating all aspects of site development and addressing critical issues.

  • Assist with keeping community development moving forward and addressing challenges to ensure community is completed on schedule.

  • Assist with executing site development plans and completing project associated paperwork.

  • Assist with final permit and tract acceptance by the governing agencies. Coordinate the preparation of punch lists, attend associated site walks, monitor execution of punch lists items to a timely completion and final tract acceptance by the governing agency and homeowner associations.

  • Assist land development manager and division with the implementation and management of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and dust control.

  • Assist, manage, and take the lead on community closure and bond exoneration work.

  • Help maintain a clean and safe community by conducting daily community walks, with a focus on safety and compliance using the Safety Pro/Storm Pro application to document findings.

  • Requires daily communication with Lennar staff and construction teams.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • One (1) year of homebuilding and/or related experience preferred

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent attitude and ambition to learn

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule

  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures

  • Accept constructive feedback

  • Strong work ethic

  • Team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires the ability to work in excess of eight (8) hours a day if needed, in outdoor elements, as well as within an office, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs, climb ladders, walk uneven surfaces, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard & calculator.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:

We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an hourly rate of $16.00 - $28, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.

  • This position may be eligible for bonuses.

  • This position may be eligible for commissions.

  • This position will be eligible for the described benefits listed in the above section in accordance with Company Policy.
