Purchase assigned raw materials and finished goods. Work with other buyers in our new Oracle and existing Decade ERP environments. Efficiently maintain the system to provide accurate information regarding costs and inventory
Generate and validate accurate purchase orders (pricing/quantities/delivery) to suppliers to ensure appropriate inventory levels are attained and managed
Insure materials are delivered to meet planned schedule dates in production facilities
Work closely with planning group to ensure data attributes are aligned with inventory management and supply chain goals
Work cohesively and collaboratively across all internal departments, such as Operations, Accounting, and Customer Service, as well as with Elkay's external supplier partners to meet customer expectations
Responsible for identifying discrepancies and resolving them with responsible vendors
Communicates with suppliers on monthly ratings, Supplier Issue Tracking Reports and issues that arise on daily basis
High School, 1-3 years experience in purchasing, sourcing, finance and/or operations
Invoice matching and reconciliation
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Sound customer service orientation; ability to work with multiple departments to obtain needed information
Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and order fulfillment processes and inventory mgt. methodologies required
User experience with Oracle or SAP strongly preferred
High level PC and database applications proficiency; intermediate excel skills
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal and communication skills
Entry level negotiation skills
