Position Description:

CGI is hiring for a Jr. Application Developer. As a member of the technical/development team candidates will work alongside a team of developers initially focusing on Java and Selenium development. This position includes the opportunity to grow into a full technical analyst role within the first year, not only working on development but performing operations and maintenance as well as hosting technical analysis work. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in an open, collaborative, environment and be a part of a talented team of technical experts.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Java and Selenium development

  • Defines system scope and objectives

  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results

  • Prepares detailed specifications for programs. Assists in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of new software and enhancements of existing applications

  • Works with project managers, development team, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements

  • Defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer

  • Provides overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages

  • Assists all phases of software systems programming applications

  • Evaluates new and existing software products

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, IS/IT or like technical degree. 4 years of applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 0-3 years professional, technical experience

  • Direct experience with Java development is a plus

  • Experience in Selenium development is also a plus

  • Must be able to successfully complete a CGI background check to start employment

  • Must be on-call work are required
