JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Job Function

Applies understanding of accounting principles and requirements to support business needs with a continuous improvement mentality. Adheres to forecasting excellence and creates dynamic and agile analysis to support business decisions. Reviews and explains information with sound communication skills. Suggests recommendations and helps implement problem resolution.

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the review and analysis of assigned accounting activities and projects with close supervision and technical guidance, which may include:

  • Journal entry input and general ledger maintenance

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

  • Accounts Payable activities

  • Special financial analysis projects requested by management or a functional area

Help drive results in a fast paced, highly complex global business and contribute to the cost effective internal control environment with a mindset towards compliance. Prioritizes and executes personal workload to meet assigned tasks with timely and accurate results. Reviews data for accuracy and relevance to customer requirements. Focuses attention on detail and compliance to existing G.A.A.P. and existing financial policies such as CFM and IFM.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

Minimum Experience:

The Junior Accountant is generally a recent graduate with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and brings any accounting knowledge of theory and practice based largely on his/her education. This may also include an analyst with up to two years of experience beyond his/her degree. Strong Excel skills required.

Candidate / incumbent should possess the following: - ability to operate independently with general supervision and under challenging time constraints; - ability to apply knowledge of financial processes and accounting methodologies to support rigorous reporting requirements; - ability or aptitude to facilitate interpretation and understanding of data, identify risks, develop recommendations, implement solutions; - ability to multi-task; - ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications; - ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior; - ability to work independently and in groups; - demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; critical-thinking skills; - ability and aptitude to use various types of databases and other computer software

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Job Function: Provide technical and analytical support for customs and trade compliance matters at the site/division level; ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations and trade laws and regulations; including 19CFR; 15CFR; FDA; USDA; and other US regulatory agency requirements. DEPENDING ON THE SITE/DIVISION; INCUMBENTS IN THIS POSITION MAY SPECIALIZE SOLELY IN IMPORT- OR EXPORT-RELATED ACTIVITIES; OR MAY HAVE INVOLVEMENT IN BOTH. Core Job Responsibilities: * Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. * Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. * Applies basic working knowledge of import/export regulations and requirements to support business needs. * Ensure timely and accurate response to Broker Requests for Information and follow-up to ensure resolution. * Assist site/division C&TC personnel in completing HTSUS and/or ECCN classifications and addressing import and export compliance issues related to 19 CFR and 15 CFR. * Interface with related functional areas (logistics; purchasing; materials management; etc.) on customs matters. * Conduct effective and timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records. * Elevate issues requiring correction to Corporate C&TC * Provide analytical support to general import/export-related projects; as needed; which could include Value Reconciliation; CF-28 responses; prior disclosures; etc. * Prepare import/export related documentation; which may include commercial invoices; export declarations; bills of lading; etc. * Maintain and update site Item Master Log; work with site/division regulatory to ensure accuracy and completeness of FDA product codes and affirmation of compliance codes. * Personally, educate self on latest Customs; FDA; and other government agency import regulations. Position Scope/Accountability: * Operates with general direction and supervision from the Supervisor/Manager or Senior Analyst. * This position handles day-to-day issues and core job responsibilities independently and involves the Supervisor/Manager when needed. * This employee must have the ability to analyze data and identify compliance risks and opportunities that may impact the divisional financial objectives. * The Junior Analyst will be privy to highly confidential financial information and must work within the scope of attorney/consultant and client privilege; where deemed appropriate. Minimum Education: * Bachelor's degree logistics; business other related field or 5 years of customs related experience. Minimum Experience: * Minimum 2 years' experience in import/export operations, international business, or another relevant field. * Entry level college graduates to be considered based on relevance of degree. * Sound problem solving and analytical abilities and close attention to detail required. * Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are critical for this position. * Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and manage time appropriately.
