Job Title: ETL / Interface Developer

Location: Reston, VA

Duration: Long Term Contract

(Possibility of Remote Work.)

Job Description:

The Interface Developer assists in the development and maintenance of inbound data interface processing for Care Mgmt application. This role supports existing EDI transactions (identifying and resolving transactional issues).Additionally, the role will require analysing and creating specifications for new and existing customers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop ETL transformations and mappings (extracting, transforming and loading data) from a variety of data formats and structures into enterprise-scale databases.

  • Work closely with the stakeholders to understand customer requirements.

  • Work independently on projects delivering fully automated ETL applications for production use.

  • Perform technical analysis and data mining for EDI reporting requests from internal and external sources

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, optimize, enhance and maintain EDI applications in various formats that include HIPAA standard formats such as 837 and other proprietary formats

  • Create and maintain interfaces between applications systems and EDI transaction

  • Strong documentation, process, and organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of software development standards and best practices

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Other work related duties as assigned


  • 7-10 years of related work experience

  • Experience working with DICOM, X.12, HL7, HIPAA transactions sets, and EDI engines.

  • At least 3 years of experience with SDLC methodologies, best practices standards for creating User Stories, Business Requirements Documents, and Change Requests

  • 3 + years' experience in EDI mapping , development, tools and HIPAA/X12 standards

  • 3 + years' experience with Relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server

  • At least 3 years' experience with C# developing console applications

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers

  • Detail oriented, able to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and coordinate schedules with others

  • Strong documentation, process, and organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of software development standards and best practices

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
