Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: The mechanic position is responsible for ensuring the equipment productivity and efficiency through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and monitoring. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete preventative maintenance requirements on basic equipment. Monitor efficiency of all equipment and troubleshoot when necessary. Remove or replace defective parts by dismantling and reassembling equipment. Adjust all necessary components of equipment as needed. Repair and adjust all doors as needed. Must adhere to budget, USDA, OSHA, SQF, and FDA compliance guidelines. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions (work environment and equipment) and ensure that product integrity is intact. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Basic mechanical skills/experience: Work with PD/Centrifugal pumps Motors (up to 15 HP) Piping and pneumatic valves Ability to change out parts and/or re-build as necessary Basic knowledge of electrical components Entry level knowledge and basic troubleshooting skills of plumbing, heating and refrigeration Ability to function in a teamwork environment. Must be well-organized. Must be detail oriented. Ability to plan and prioritize activity. Ability to comply with all safety rules and regulations. Basic computer skills. EDUCATION: High school diploma or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE: Basic maintenance skills. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. currency and weight measurement, volume and distance. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Power Industrial Truck Operator's License Black Seal License is a plus. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work safely with chemicals
