SALARY RANGE: As per agreement between the Phillipsburg Board of Education and the Phillipsburg Education Association

JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide academic, behavioral, social and emotional counseling and interventions to support the needs of students in school, through classroom, and small group and / or individual sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY:

1.New Jersey School Counselor Certification or School Social Worker Certificate

2.Student Centered Focus

3.Required criminal history background check

QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED:

1.Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.

2.Ability to develop strong and trusting relationships with students and families.

3.Broad knowledge of community resources to support students and families in need.

4.Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.

5.Working knowledge of and ability to implement Social Emotional and Mindfulness strategies.

6.Ability to establish, maintain, and grow cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

7.Trauma informed knowledge
