JLL is seeking a Journeyman Plumber to support our client's facility in Chicago, IL.

Location: Chicago, IL

Shift: Tuesday

• Saturday 6 a.m.

• 2 p.m.

Compensation: 45 - 46/HR

Union: Local 399

The Journeyman Plumber must possess and actively apply the knowledge of plumbing systems including domestic water and related devices, sanitary waste systems, Steam systems high and low pressure, and their devices. You must be proficient in problem-solving and capable of independently performing troubleshooting functions regarding maintenance and construction.

Here is some of what you will be doing:

• Repair and install all types of plumbing pipes and devices per the plumbing code.

• Rod all types of waste and drain lines

• Repair all related kitchen equipment

• Install new/used equipment including faucets, lavatories, toilets, flush valves, sinks, drinking fountains, and domestic water heaters( either steam, electric, or gas-fired).

• Install, repair, and adjust steam stations of various types and styles.

• Operate appropriate construction tools and equipment.

• Cut, flange, and thread all types of pipe including stainless, PVC, galvanized, black, copper, etc., and sweat copper pipe and fittings using various types of soft solder. Apply all types and sizes of fittings and valves to all types of lines and construct anti-siphon devices. Medical air systems, repair room med gas outlets

Here is who we are looking for:

Knowledge:

• Knowledge and use of high/low-pressure steam systems

• Knowledge of building plumbing systems and all types of pumps

• Knowledge pumping and fire system protection systems

• Knowledge of the computer maintenance system and associated devices such as tablets.

• Knowledge of medical gas systems and maintenance

Skills:

• Able to read blueprints, and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and instructions as necessary to complete all work assignments.

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations applicable to the trade.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the performance of a job assignment.

Physical environment

• Must possess the physical strength and dexterity to effectively perform work assignments.

• Lift various objects and devices of the job that can weigh between 20-50 lbs.
