LOOKING FOR: A mission-driven, Journeyman level engineer with an active secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS Maritime Lifecycle Readiness team as a Journeyman Coast Guard Mechanical Engineer in Washington, DC. Candidate will support the United States Coast Guard.

Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Surface Forces Logistics Center, Engineering Services Division (SFLC-ESD).

A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Engineer:
Assist with Senior Mechanical Engineers in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems and auxiliary systems.
Team member in supporting the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
Assist with performing design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects.
Assist with marine engineering analysis as they relate to vessels.
Assist with team to create graphical representations of structures and systems.
Assist with team to inspect equipment or systems.
Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
Assist with preparing technical reports for internal use.
