Journeyman Maintenance Electrician

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure compliance with local, city, state and national electrical code rules and regulations.

• Ensure that repairs and replacement devices or equipment comply with the Client Specifications and Standards.

• Ability to read blueprints, control wiring schematics, instrument loop drawings, and PLC-I/O drawings.

• Gather appropriate Client supplied material to complete assigned tasks.

• Replace or repair faulty electrical equipment, instrumentation, control wiring or control devices with like materials.

• Perform Preventive Maintenance on panel boards, transformers, switch gears, transfer switches, and other various types of electrical equipment.

• Performs preventative maintenance on variable frequency drives, motors, pumps, generators, etc.

• Perform Preventive Maintenance on instrumentation and PLC equipment.

• Troubleshoots and repair electrical and instrumentation systems.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid / Current N.D. Electrical Journeyman license.

• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a company vehicle.

• Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to complete Delta provided classes after hiring date.

• 4 years minimum as a Licensed Electrical Journeyman with electrical maintenance experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.

• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, electrical utilization equipment, operational and mechanical systems operations, including installation, test, maintenance, and repair of typical plant systems.

• Knowledge and experienced in the use of power tools, electrical and instrumentation testing equipment, general construction tools and equipment, and general construction practices.

• Knowledge of proper electrical equipment use conducive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials Data Sheets and Delta / Client Safety Regulations

• Understands how the facility electrical system operates under normal and emergency conditions.

• Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage system problems or outages, electrical fires, broken power lines etc.

• Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem or recommend solution.

• Ability to set and balance priorities to complete projects on time.

• Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in difficult situations.

• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors in both verbal and written communication methods.

• Ability to handle stress and possess a positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Working knowledge of the fundamentals of AC and DC Control Systems.

• Ability to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs on occasion. Work condition is outside environment (job site/field site) that may have inclement weather conditions. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and equipment. The employee will be required to comply with all Company and Client policies including but not limited to attendance and safety.
