Journeyman Electrician

Summary Plumbs, wires, constructs and maintains remediation equipment, petroleum construction, tools and facilities consistent with Company work orders, blueprints, schematic drawings and other prescribed specifications. Responsibilities: 50%: Helps to fabricate, install and maintain various types of electrical systems and their parts and components, includes taking responsibility for installing plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, electronic and constructual systems. 10%: Development of efficient methods for control panel construction.

Trains other employees on the design, start up of systems on site, and repairs all tools, tech calls over phone. 10%: Assist in the bidding development of control panels. Maintains logs and records of installation, maintenance and other work performed. 10%: Development of electrical drawings, standards and control testing. Help train others on the requirements of the system (train field people). 20%: Performs other duties as assigned such as constructing, testing, installing, remediation systems.

Requirements: Education: Requires a high school diploma and completion of US DOL Electrician Apprenticeship program. Experience: 4-6 years of related electrical experience, or equivalent training and/or experience. Licenses/Certifications:

Electrician Journeyman Certification Technical Abilities: Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical wiring, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics and construction principles and practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings and other prescribed instructions as described.

Basic mathematical and record keeping skills. Ability to follow work instructions and prescribed specifications. Autonomy/Direction:

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under intermittent supervision. Job functions typically require exercising independent judgment.

Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Conditions of Employment: Working Hazards:

Works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes. Physical/Mental Exertion Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.
