Cargill Protein has an exciting opportunity available for a Journeyman Electrician at our Big Lake, MN egg processing facility. Successful candidate will be responsible for operation, distribution, and maintenance of steam, electrical, water, natural gas, HVAC, ammonia refrigeration and compressed air systems to satisfy production and operating requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
Position Purpose & Summary
The A Journeyman has the responsibility to execute on installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with all levels of electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in several areas such as production equipment, Utilities, lighting, HVAC units, motors, and pumps. This position will also be responsible for helping with instrumentation controls, understand basic PLC operatons, panels organization, schematic updates and circuits throughout the plant in accordance with relevant codes.
Provide troubleshooting expertise in the areas of automation, electrical and instrumentation in support of the plant.
Help create troubleshooting tools and Job task procedure documentation.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis efforts and solutions.
25% Troubleshooting of assets used for controlling plant processes.
10% Help identify needed electrical work. Completion of daily/weekly paperwork.
10% Keep electrical prints updated.
5% Training and development courses, vendors and outside consultants. Keeping license current with required training.
Must have been awarded an A journeyman's license with the state and is current and maintained.
Must obtain a working understanding of the plant process.
Must be able to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems.
Ability to read and update electrical schematics.
Good communications and organizational skills.
Work well in a team or individual environment and be a self-starter.
Must be familiar with NEC, NFPA70E and industrial electrical requirements
Occasional travel may be required'
Experience in troubleshooting instrumentation/process controls.
Understanding of the electrical hazards like Arc flash/Blast
Be able to read and understand Safety labels for electrical Shock and arc flash hazards
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling.
Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience, AB and/or Siemens.
Knowledge of predictive technologies (MCE, vibration, infrared, ultrasound, machinery lubrication).
Previous work in food processing facility
Working knowledge of PLC operations.
