This position requires strong interpersonal, communication and technical skills to manage and collaboratively coordinate communication projects with joint use customers. Design and coordinate electric line rebuild rebuilds in order to meet or exceed our customer's expectations.
A solid understanding of utility aerial construction design and compliance with Avista's construction standards and National Electric Safety Code (NESC). Establish and maintain good community relations. Develop, network and maintain relationships with contacts in the communication industry and Company employees system wide. All successful candidates are expected to complete the CPC Training program within the allowable time schedule.

RequirementsTwo year technical degree in mechanical/electrical/civil engineering or project management, or a minimum of 5 years in the design or construction of electric, gas or related utility/communication distribution infrastructure required. Also requires experience dealing with customers, project management and MS Word, Excel, and utility mapping.
Knowledge of: Electrical theory, principles and practices relating to electric distribution engineering; land use requirements for obtaining permits and rights-of-way; overhead distribution construction standards, techniques, methods, equipment and material; utility policies and practices; National Electric Safety Code; personal computers, spreadsheets, wordprocessors, and databases.
Ability to read electric distribution line maps, joint use design and civil engineering drawings related to utility systems. Apply mathematics in formulating calculations related to codes and standards.
Requires the ability to analyze and explain construction requirements, identify pole attachments and violations, read and understand state, national and federal codes and regulations, communicate and work effectively with other people, organize and lead work, and use originality, innovation and sound judgement. Requires a valid driver's license.
Demonstrates abilities in teamwork, oral and written communication skills, customer service, and problem solving. Other combinations of experience and/or education may be considered.
