Description:
Position Purpose:
At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Clinical Coordinator of the operating rooms within Connecticut Joint Replacement & Spine Institute plays a crucial role in staffing while supporting the staff and patients of the Joint and Spine Operating Room suites. The Coordinator ensures adequate coverage, manages schedules, and allocates resources efficiently to meet patient and physician needs.
What you will do:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, ensures adequate coverage, manages schedules and allocates efficiently to meet patient and physical needs.
Provides direct care based on the patient's age, developmental level, and priorities
Serves as a patient advocate throughout the entire surgical process, offering support before, during, and after surgery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's degree in Nursing is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Operating Room nursing, specifically in Orthopedic or Spine/Neuro OR, is required.
BLS or CPR certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
Requires the ability to practice utilizing the recommended standards and guidelines of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
