Hours: Full-year position. 8-hour work day in accordance with school schedule with an additional half hour unpaid for lunch
Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the support staff bargaining unit contract. Salary range is $23.85/hour to $26.84/hour. Prior experience will be considered in establishing pay rate.
Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or its equivalent
Three years of previous work experience as an executive secretary/administrative assistant preferred
Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, parents and visitors tactfully and courteously at all times
Responds appropriately on a daily basis to concerns and requests from the various constituencies that do not require the School Principal's direct attention
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with a strong aptitude for learning new software
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to compose written memos, letters and other professional documents
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as necessary
Ability to manage and handle stress in a fast-paced environment
Overall Job Duties:
Routine secretarial responsibilities (i.e., maintaining the principal's and the school events calendar; scheduling appointments; handling phone calls; typing reports and correspondence)
Purchasing for the school
Budget preparation
Payroll on a bi-weekly basis
PBIS data collection and student discipline correspondence
Overseeing teacher evaluation and observation schedule and handling associated recordkeeping and deadlines
Preparation of monthly Board of Education reports
Filling in at the front office when needed
PowerSchool
Scheduling of fire and emergency drills
Maintain a variety of files and records of a confidential and non-confidential nature
Liaison with head custodian regarding budget and payroll
Other duties as assigned
