JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborates with university and health care system officials to manage affiliation agreements for every active clinical site.
Places students in their clinical externship/practicum experience
Provides students with clinical site information for clinical rotation, practicum, and/or externship.
Attends community meetings and networking opportunities to promote the university.
Locates and evaluates potential clinical sites.
Works with sites in a cooperative effort to provide quality learning experiences for students.
Properly responds to any issues that arise while the student is completing their externship/practicum.
Ensures all correspondence with clinical sites is completed each term, including but not limited to letters of attestation, agreements, and site requirements.
Updates clinical rotation and practicum documents, policies, and procedures as necessary and upon approval of the Associate Dean & Program Coordinators.
Maintains ongoing communication with site supervisors/coordinators.
Works cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments.
Travels to clinical and preceptor sites, both in the area and outside of the area, as necessary.
Ensures compliance with academic and regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with University offices, administrators, faculty, and staff to provide comprehensive student placement in clinical areas.
Completes required reports for the University, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Nursing Department.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing with experience in advising, counseling, and/or teaching.
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role in a health care system.
Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to interpret and explain preceptorship policies and procedures.
Ability to multitask.
Customer service skills.
Ability to display positive and professional attitude to students, staff, clinical sites, and faculty.
Must have a valid driver's license and/or the ability to travel to clinical sites.
Excellent oral and written communications; detail oriented.
Skills in building interpersonal relationships; leadership and management.
Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
