JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
The Neumann University School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Education invites applications for a full-time theology faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank to begin in August 2024. The position is in our undergraduate Theology Program, which is rooted in the Franciscan Intellectual Tradition.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities will be four courses per semester at the undergraduate level in traditional and online modalities.
The faculty member will be expected to provide high-quality teaching, serve on appropriate departmental, school and University committees, advise students and be research active.
Neumann expects full-time faculty to engage in scholarship and research on an ongoing basis, to perform committee service and academic advising, and to engage in community service, broadly defined.
Other responsibilities may include curriculum/syllabus development.
Candidates should be aware that Neumann University does not have a system of tenure, but instead offers faculty a policy-governed system of promotion and increasingly extended contracts with faculty seniority.
Required Qualifications:
An earned doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in theology, religious studies, or a related field.
A record of successful teaching experience and demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
Trained in and committed to the Roman Catholic theological tradition, preferably with a background in the Franciscan Intellectual Tradition.
Candidates must possess an appreciation for, congruence with, and commitment to the Franciscan mission of the University that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
