Job Title: Assistant Professor - Nursing - Community/Mental Health

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

The Neumann University School of Nursing & Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month Community Nursing/Mental Health Nursing faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank to begin in August 2024.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Uses effective teaching and assessment strategies in the classroom, laboratory setting, and if applicable, the clinical environment.

• Collaborates in the implementation of the program's mission and vision for programmatic and department improvement.

• Provides advisement and guidance to nursing students to provide effective academic progression through graduation.

• Works collaboratively with faculty members, staff, and administrators of the Nursing Programs and School of Nursing and Health Sciences to meet the program's goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in area of nursing specialization and/or nursing education is required from an accredited institution of higher education. Teaching experience in higher education preferred. Doctoral degree in nursing preferred.

• Must be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and meet background requirements according to institutional regulations, the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, and Pennsylvania and Delaware statutes.

Faculty Protocol:

• Candidates should be aware that Neumann University does not have a system of tenure, but instead offers faculty a policy-governed system of promotion and increasingly extended contracts with faculty seniority.
