JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
The Neumann University School of Nursing & Health Sciences is seeking candidates with a background in physical, inorganic, or analytical chemistry and with university-level teaching experience for a full-time, 9-month faculty position at the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank in Chemistry to begin in August 2024. We are hoping to hire a colleague who can contribute in substantive ways to our biology and health science programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will prepare and teach lecture and laboratory classes in introductory-level chemistry courses for biology and health sciences majors as well as other chemistry courses as needed.
The standard teaching load at Neumann University is twelve credits per academic semester, consisting of a mixture of three-credit lectures and two-credit labs.
Neumann expects full-time faculty to engage in scholarship and research on an ongoing basis, to perform committee service and academic advising, and to engage in community service, broadly defined.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Masters (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry with a background in Inorganic, Physical, or Biochemistry.
Candidates enrolled in a doctoral degree program with a confirmed graduation/defense date will be considered.
Candidates must possess an appreciation for, congruence with, and commitment to the Franciscan mission of the University that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
