Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Recreation Therapist. The Recreational Therapist provides therapeutic services while applying and utilizing treatment intervention.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • To develop and implement a recreational therapy treatment plan for each patient in concert with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

  • To recognize signs and symptoms of chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriatetreatment interventions.

  • To recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

  • To maintain the clinical and administrative documentation associated with services rendered.

  • To participate in the on-going implementation of the department's performance improvement plan.

  • To participate in the effective allocation of department resources.

  • To support the organization's mission and goals.

  • To participate in staff development activities scheduled by the hospital.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy

  • Experience: Minimum of (3) years recent recreation expertise in an in-patient environment.

  • Licensure: Required Current CTRS

  • Additional Requirements:
    Must complete and maintain training in CPR and HWC aggression management, crisis intervention and restraint training. Training may be obtained during first week of employment during new hire orientation.
