Overview

Desert Choice Schools is a certified K-12 private day school. We have locations in the East and West Valleys of Phoenix, Yuma Arizona and also Tulsa OK.

We are hosting a Job Fair in May of 2019.

Location: Evans Learning Center at 4525 S College Ave, Tempe AZ 85282

Date: Saturday, May 4th, 2019

Time: 9 a.m- 12 p.m

Positions for both 18-19 and 19-20 school year

Looking for: SPED Teacher (Programs: ED-P, High functioning Autism, Low functioning Autism and intellectual disabilities), Intern Teachers, Alt Ed (Gen Ed) Teacher, Behavior Tech, Registered Behavior Tech (for programs with students with intellectual disabilities and Autism)

Positions are available both on West Valley and East Valley

Interviews to occur on site

Bring resume, certificates (if any) and fingerprint clearance card

Responsibilities

Being a Special Educator or Teacher's Aide( Behavior Tecnician) with Desert Choice Schools is unlike any other opportunity. Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and teaching experience is preferred

  • Valid "IVP" Fingerprints Clearance Card for both Teachers and Behavior Technicians is required or ability to get one

  • Any of the following for Teachers candidates only:

  • Valid State of Arizona Special Education Certification (Cross Categorical or Mild/Moderate)

  • Valid State of Arizona Teaching Intern Certificate

VIEW JOBS 4/4/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-03T00:00 Overview Desert Choice Schools- certified K-12 private day school is looking for the part-time( on-call) Substitute Behavior Technicians (Teacher's Aide/ Paraprofessionals) for our locations in Tempe, Queen Creek and Gilbert. This is an entry level, first shift position. It's perfect for the candidates with a background in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Sociology and Healthcare. This will be a great way to get into the field where you can use your theoretical knowledge and implement it in practice. This position is also for candidates that are generally interested to work with children with special needs and want to make a difference in their lives. Please Note: The starting rate for a Behavioral Technician is $14.00 per hour. This is a 10-month school year position Responsibilities As a Substitute Behavior Technician, you'll be a part of a school-based special education team. This team works with Tulsa Public School District to deliver the highest-quality special education services to students with special needs. You'll provide assistance to the teacher in the implementation of all program components such as the Clinical Program, Instruction, Special Education Services and Physical Fitness. You will be supported by a mentor, veteran behavior technicians and an on-site administrator manager. Qualifications * High School Diploma required; college degree preferred * 1-2 years' experience working with children in a special needs education setting * Ability to pass a general background check * Ability to collaborate and receive to feedback, mentoring and direction from peers and supervisors * Demonstrated experience in maintaining a professional and clinical perspective at all times, with the ability to not internalize or personalize (e.g. emotionally) in regard certain student behaviors or mannerisms that occur. * Demonstrated experience using physical ability and dexterity to safely and effectively use Crisis Management Interventions (including the use of therapeutic holds) of all involved (e.g. self, student, other employees * PCMA Certification will be required Learn It Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
