PathPoint is seeking a full-time Job Coach (Direct Support Professional) to join our Project SEARCH team in Santa Barbara, CA. Project SEARCH is a unique one-year internship program that enables adults with developmental disabilities to learn invaluable job skills in a competitive work setting. In this role, you will coach and support interns with disabilities as they work through internship rotations, helping them develop skills and confidence for regular employment when their internships end. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:30pm.

The Impact You'll Make:
Coach and support interns by teaching soft skills such as professional communication, behavior and grooming/hygiene, and hard skills specific to the internship duties.
Provide individualized support for interns, including job coaching, identifying job accommodations, and use of assistive technology.
Collaborate with interns, employers, staff, and other partners to creatively address any issues affecting interns' training and employment.
Lead classroom discussions on a variety of employment-related skills.
Write case notes, monthly intern evaluations, and other reports regularly.
Who We're Looking For:
Previous professional or personal experience working with individuals with disabilities is desirable but not required. If you are interested in this job but do not have directly relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you!
Patience, compassion, and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, community partners, and others in a positive and constructive manner
Self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills
Tech savvy, including proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software
Must have reliable transportation for daily travel in the Santa Barbara area
Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture
High school diploma or GED required
Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $18.50 per hour. The pay range is $16.03-$24.04 an hour.*
Bilingual: If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $18.80 per hour and the pay range is $16.83-$25.24.*
