JIT Compiler Engineer
We are looking for a software developer to join Compute Performance & Developer Products (CPDP) division of Intel Architecture, Graphics and Software (IAGS) group, which is responsible for leadership performance of computing workloads on Intel platforms through a rich portfolio of software developer products. You will be working in an open and agile environment by leveraging the power of open-source projects as well as the power of a large organization's cross-team work.
We are seeking for experienced compiler developer to work on JIT compilation technologies for Python. Any prior experience with high-performance computing, data analytics, databases as well as knowledge of parallel architectures and system software will be a great addition to a skill-set that we need. You will be part of the team working on leading-edge technologies for numerical computing and data science. We are looking for people who want to play a role in shaping the future of Python for (data) science. Python has become #1 language for data science. What is still lacking is the performance and efficiency of native languages. You will be playing a critical role in changing that by helping data science to scale beyond laptops to powerful servers and clusters.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
You will be a center of compiler expertise in the team designing, implementing, testing, reviewing, and documenting codes
You will be a primary interface within the company and to the outside world on compiler related issues, including communication & day-to-day work with open source community and customer interactions
Be the face of the team at external events on compiler related topics. Publish results in external media (journals, blogs, forums)
An ideal candidate would exhibit behavioral traits that indicate:

Teamwork and ability to teach/mentor junior team members
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.
PhD in Computer engineering or computer science or Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or Physics or Mathematics or a related discipline
Experience with LLVM, SPIR-V
Knowledge of numpy/scipy, pandas, scikit-learn internals
Active contributions to open source projects
Experience working with Python projects in HPC and/or Data Science
Experience with performance optimization of numerical application
