Jira Support Engineer (Application Software Engineer)

Job Description

Intel's Technology Development Analytics and Technology Automation (TD ATA) organization is looking for a talented individual to own and support the TD JIRA platform and application as an Application Software Engineer Working within TD ATA Business Process Engineering (BPE) group, this role will be responsible for owning and driving the platform improvement roadmap, enabling the platform to support portfolio and on-premise systems for the end users, and partnering with other BPE platform owners to optimize the TD suite of business/ organizational operations platforms. This role will also include working closely with subject matter experts to help define and execute broad solutions through solid project/ program management techniques.

The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

• Review TD requirements and enable the desired Jira configuration to meet customer requirements.

• Learn our internal cloud solution (Kubernetes-based) and how to successfully deploy Manufacturing Jira supporting a path-to-production.

• Have knowledge and experience with containers (i.e., Docker) and Atlassian's Jira Helm Chart to deploy Jira.

• Integrate Manufacturing Jira instance with other systems such as 1Source GitHub, Manufacturing GitHub, ServiceNow, etc.

• Work with Jira migration teams and post-migration TD teams to solve migration issues.

• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the Manufacturing Jira instance, including troubleshooting issues, applying updates and patches, and optimizing performance.

• Monitoring the Manufacturing Jira instance to ensure its availability, reliability, and security.

• Provide training sessions for system admins and end-users on how to effectively use and manage the Manufacturing Jira Instance.

• Create documentation, including user guides and system administration manuals to support ongoing usage and maintenance of the Mfg. Jira Instance.

• Develop testing and coordinate with TD on designs and architectural changes.

• Connect with stakeholders to define the path forward as well as provide status reports.

• Support broader TD ATA linked programs through solid project and program management execution.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in the below:

• Advanced experience with Jira including configurations.

• Advanced experience on program and Project management processes/technical.

• Advanced experience in object-oriented software design and development.

• Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (both verbal and written).

• Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Costa Rica.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

• Experience with 1Source GitHub, Manufacturing GitHub and ServiceNow.

• Rancher experience (a web-based interface into Kubernetes).

• Global cultural orientation and working experience is a plus.

• DevOps/Scrum experience.

• Cloud solutions (Kubernetes-based).

• Container experience (Docker).

• Experience with Python.
