Team Description

IT&S delivers technology strategy and solutions to our Dropbox business partners so they can work confidently, move fast and scale effortlessly for future growth. We are the accelerator to the Dropbox business engine. We think of our team as a future-focused city planner for the Dropbox neighborhoods. We'll help you source and implement the right technology solution, then fit it into exactly the right place so that everything flawlessly flows, integrates and performs.

Role Description

As the Jira Admin, you support Jira at Dropbox. Jira is a core application used by IT and other teams at Dropbox. You will be responsible for front-end configurations, implementing customization, managing plug-ins, and for being the go-to source for all Jira related questions and tasks. You will be a key partner and SME working with the PMO to align Jira to our SDLC and best practices for running Agile. You are naturally curious and like to solve problems. You are customer-centric.


  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Jira.

  • Be a change agent to drive transformation of how we manage work.

  • Drive innovation on how work is performed using Jira

  • Create custom Jira projects, complex workflows and permission schemas

  • Manage Jira version upgrades

  • Create training material and standard operating procedure documentation

  • Provide formal and informal training to Jira users

  • Identify, test and recommend new plugins to meet project requirements

  • Define access permission schemas for internal and external Dropbox users

  • Be the key contact for Atlassian support

  • Align Jira with PMO processes and standards (Waterfall, Agile and Kanban)


  • 5 - 7 years of experience as a Jira Admin

  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and project management methodologies

  • Experience with Jira version upgrades

  • Ability to write custom JQL (Jira Query Language)
